The factory extension carried out in early 2008, saw the installation of a modern wood burning heating system that provides cost effective warmth from locally produced fuel. The system automates the recovery of waste wood and dust from the factory, allowing the machinery to operate with an improved productivity rate.
As the wood waste has no cost, the new system saves on energy costs but more importantly eradicates waste to landfill and gives the company a carbon reduction of 23 tonnes per annum.
